Pistorius To Stand On His Own Two Legs

Oscar Pistorius, the standout Paralympian who uses carbon fiber prosthetics to run will compete this weekend at the Norwich Union IAAF Grand Prix meet in Sheffield, Britain. It's interesting to see the IAAF has now sanctioned Pistorius's participation alongside world no. 1 and Michael Johnson protegé Jeremy Wariner. Pistorius is maintaining his claim for an Olympic berth and with rule changes and sporting tradition often developing on the basis of popular acclaim, a well-run PR campaign could yet see the South African achieve his dream in Beijing.
